The Brief:
To develop a health & wellbeing programme suitable for the UK and International roll out, across the GO Run For Fun networks of primary schools. Using key health & wellbeing themes to create resources, training and support to schools and engage them in running events in their local community.
What I did:
Created a unique pupil-led 6 week health & wellbeing programme including physical activity and fitness, resilience, healthy eating, hydration and teamwork. With activity cards, mission manuals, progress trackers and assembly presentations with films featuring the Dart Character.
I developed a training workshop to support primary pupils to become Special Agents to support their delivery of the programme back in school. They were provided with all the tools, knowledge and skills to deliver high quality engaging health & wellbeing activities with key messages to the whole school in assemblies, break and lunchtime. This included teamwork, presentation skills, use of IT and facilitation of activities. The programme was translated into 5 languages and delivered across 7 countries across the world.
Impact:
In the UK:
- 130 primary schools have participated in the GO Run For Fun Health & Wellbeing programme to date.
- 240 pupils have been trained as Special Agents across the UK.
- Over 23,000 have participated in the GO Run For Fun local running events.
Internationally:
- Over 188 schools have taken part internationally.
“A fantastic programme to encourage the children in our school to be healthy! We can’t wait to get started.”
