Workshop: MOVE with Zip Active

Supporting physical development, movement skills, communication and language development.

Audience:

  • EYFS teachers in reception & nursery
  • Teaching Assistants
  • PE Subject Lead

Overview:

An interactive workshop designed specifically for EYFS practitioners, including reception teachers. This workshop will provide staff with the skills, knowledge and understanding to support communication and language development through physical activity and fundamental movement skill development using The MOVE with Zip Active resource (activity cards, posters, chatter cards, yoga cards). Supporting physical development, movement skills and cross curricular learning opportunities.

Best suited to:

A half day delivery. Resources can be bought without training.

The Developing Child

The impact of movement and physical activity on brain development and the developing child during the early years.

Audience:

  • EYFS teachers in reception & nursery
  • Teaching Assistants
  • PE Subject Lead

Overview:

Physical activity plays a major role in child development from birth. This workshop explores how and why movement from birth impacts on the developing brain and the developing child. The workshop will provide staff with the knowledge and skills to maximise the impact of physical activity on children, their concentration, focus, reading and writing, in turn enabling children to fulfil their potential.

Observe & Assess With Zip Active

Observing and assessing physical development across EYFS and PE in reception.

Audience:

  • EYFS teachers in reception & nursery
  • Teaching Assistants
  • PE Subject Lead

Overview:

Using The Observe & Assess with Zip Active resource, this workshop will support staff in observing and assessing progress in physical development & PE for nursery & reception children. Aspects of this assessment resource can contribute to the Early Years Profile, also supporting pupil transition from nursery to reception and reception to year 1. An engaging and interactive workshop exploring ideas and providing a user friendly way to measure what we treasure.
